Born in Whakatāne I grew up in the all red town of Kawerau, a lot of support, protection and discipline from my father, my mother was always the safety blanket who through action showed my siblings and I the true meaning of unconditional love.
I picked up a golf club at the age of 7 years old. Fast track 10 years I have travelled the world playing golf.
Life changing adversity hit me 4 weeks from my 18th birthday, where I went from the top of the world to the dark in a matter of days.
I decided not to pursue my part paid golf and engineering scholarship to Arizona state. Instead took time to rebuild myself with the support of my whanau, who told me what I needed to hear which was the truth, this helped me turn a corner.
I went on to complete an apprenticeship as an electrician, a second trade as an instrument technician, then a boiler operator ticket. Finally completing a MBA through Waikato University March 2024.
I found my best friend I now call my wife. She has blessed me with 3 children, they are all in my safety blanket now and are my absolute world.
In order to see the light we must experience the dark, this is unique to leaders’ values and life experiences, and we all have a story or two.
I would love to share my life learnings by giving back to our people to help guide them through the dark and into the light. I understand I am never too important to do the little things that must be done.
